Basketball

Logan started basketball for the first time this week. He was so worried that it was going to be too hard, but apparently he made a basket during his first practice, so that eased his fears. Now he wants a basketball room, and he wants to practice everyday. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of his very 1st practice. I had to miss it secondary to an injured rib. Yes, I injured a rib coughing too hard, to the point where I could not even roll over or get out of bed by myself. Just my luck.

May I have some humans?

Yes, that is what Olivia asked me tonight. She cracks me up everyday. I bet you are wondering what humans are huh. Well, in Olivia's world they are Almonds.

Ballet

Olivia started Ballet today, in combination with her gymnastics class, and she loved it. It was very Cute watching 3 year olds dance ballet for the first time.

I think Olivia's favorite part was watching herself in the mirror.

Demolition...

...on the ugly tile has begun. What a mess! Hopefully we will have new tile by tommorrow.

Halloween

Halloween was very busy this year. That is part of the reason this post is a bit late. Between the Halloween party, the fall carnival, Storybook forest, and trick or treating twice we had our fair share of halloween activities.

Things that make me smile

It makes me so proud to see my kids playing together well. They found a computer game they can play together. He uses the arrow keys and she uses the space bar (to jump). They cheer each other on and laugh the entire time. How cute.

Here is another funny Olivia story. The other day we were eating Blueberry Almond Crunch cereal for breakfast. She picked up a piece of it and said "Look Mommy. I found a human". Trying to hold back my laughter I said "No baby, that's an almond".

On a side note, Logan did very well in his soccer game this morning. He had a great time, and he is getting better every game.

The picture of Olivia is right after she had her hair done today. They washed, cut, and styled it. She loved every minute of it.

Addendum

As a side note to that last post, I will take the time to learn how to set up a slideshow with the pictures eventually. I also tend to forget to turn my pictures upright when I'm tired. Sorry.

A day in Elgin and Princess Wishes

It has been a busy week so I am a bit behind, not that I have had much to say lately anyway. My husband would probably disagree with that. Saturday after the soccer game we loaded up and went down to Elgin to visit my mom, grandma, aunt and uncle, cousins and their two girls. My cousin and his wife brought their bounce house (thank you!). The kids loved it, almost as much as mooing at the cows. It kept them busy most of the afternoon. It was nice to get to visit with everyone, although we were completely worn out by the end of the day.

Sunday Olivia, my stepmom and I went to see Princess Wishes at the fair. It was a lot of fun. It actually kept Olivia's attention for the whole show, which is pretty impressive for a young three year old.

1st Soccer Game

Logan had his first soccer game this weekend, and he did very well. He has improved each season he's played. He especially loves practice. Now he asks why he doesn't have practice more than once a week. Here are a few pics of the game. They are a bit blurry, but it's hard to get good pictures while they are running.

Forgiveness

The last few days when Olivia gets mad at someone, mainly her brother, she yells "I forgive you!" Very cute, but I don't think she really knows what she is saying.

No fur for me please

We went out to dinner the other night at a restaurant where the kids were given cotton candy for their dessert as part of the kids meal. Our kids have never had cotton candy before, but we thought they would love anything that the the main ingredient was sugar. Olivia took one bite and started making a bad face. She tried one more bite, and then she wouldn't eat anymore. We asked her "Olivia, don't you like you cotton candy?". She said "I don't like the fur in it." Wow, a three year old that doesn't like cotton candy.

August Flowers

The flowers I planted in the spring are finally blooming. I guess they didn't like all of the rain the first half of the summer.

Lunar Eclipse

Being the nerd that I am, I set my alarm for 5:45 this morning to see the eclipse. It was very cool. I tried to get a picture, but none of them turned out. I even got Logan out of bed early to see the eclipse. He was very unimpressed. He said "Yeah I see it" and went back inside. I guess I'm the only nerd in the family.

Always the Princess

If you haven't figured it out by now, Olivia loves to play dress up. She especially loves princesses. I have been storing my vail in the back of her closet, and she found it yesterday. Well, needless to say, all she has wanted to do is wear my vail the last two days. She thinks it looks like Cinderella's. She can wear it for now, but she is not allowed to date until she is thirty!

On a side note, the only one that shed any tears for Logan's first day of school was Olivia. She was upset that she was not able to go to school too.

1st Day of Kindergarten!

Wow! Today was Logan's first day of Kindergarten, and he did surprisingly well. He was so excited. He headed off to class, and he never looked back. I think it helped that he had a couple of friends in his class. His teacher, Mrs. Surritte, is also very nice. While we were waiting for everyone to arrive she just sat down and put her arm around him. Besides the playground, his favorite part of the day was sitting in the reading bathtub. Yes, there is a bathtub full of pillows in the classroom that the kids can sit in and read. How fun! Here is a little flashback of my big baby boy.

Married???

The other night a clip of Princess Diana getting married in her big beautiful dress came on the TV. Olivia saw it and immediately said "Mommy, I want to get married!". The girl will do anything to dress like a princess.

Picking My Battles and Swimming

I feel like I have been constantly telling the kids "no" lately. So, I have decided to relax a little and pick my battles. This is how we ran our errands this morning, in the middle of a heat wave, with Logan in a jacket and Olivia in a winter dress.

This afternoon we went swimming in my uncle's pool to cool off a little. The kids loved it. Olivia tends to be a little more adventurous. She loves to jump to daddy and be thrown in the air, while Logan prefers to stay a little more grounded.

Birthday Party X2

This year we decided to have a combo birthday party for the kids. Since the kids bithdays are only three weeks apart, and Olivia was only interested in inviting 2 or 3 friends, all of which are siblings of Logan's friends, it made more sense. It was also easier on me! We went to the park, and gave all the kids water guns to beat the heat. Here are a few pics of the fun.

Good Big Brother

Logan is such a good big brother. I can't believe he starts kindergarten in a few weeks. Well, the other day he decided he wanted to teach Olivia to read. It was very sweet, although Olivia did not cooperate for long.

Logan and Olivia playing in the sprinklers.

We are new at this Blogging thing so be patient with us. Here are some pics of the kids playing in the sprinkler system. We are taking a vacation the first full week of August. We are not going anywhere special this year, just going to try and enjoy some of the places and things that Oklahoma can supply. We will post some pics and update what we decided to do after the fact.
